JACQUES HERBIN 1670 ink Fuchsia de Magellan 50ml

The Jacques Herbin 1670 Anniversary Ink Collection commemorates the year that the Jacques Herbin company was founded in the heart of Paris. The seventh color in this series, Fuchsia de Magellan is a soft, warm pink with a gold shimmer. Its name comes from the Magellanic fuschia of South America, which itself was named in honor of Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan. During their famous expedition to circumnavigate the Earth, Magellan and his fleet became the first Europeans to chart what is now known as the Strait of Magellan—the most important natural sea route connecting the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.

Jacques Herbin made many journeys to India and brought special wax formulas back to Paris, leading to his shop’s success as a reputable sealing wax manufacturer that served Louis XIV and gained popularity throughout France. The wax seals on the cap and front of the bottle remind us of this rich history.
